We Support Mental Health Awareness Week

In light of mental health awareness week, we at KBB Leads want to show our support to anyone who may be struggling during this time.

These statistics show that mental health issues are still a big problem today:

  • 676 million people are affected by mental health issues worldwide
  • For those in construction, the risk of suicide is 1.6 times higher than the national average
  • A survey by Boiler Manufacturer found that heating engineers take an average of 18 days holiday a year compared to the national average of 28 days

KBB Leads Mental Health Officer, Rebecca Lopuc says:

“We are not talking enough about mental health.  It is our job as human beings to encourage one another to open up, discuss and to listen without judgement.  It is okay to not be okay…”

At KBB Leads we believe that consideration and positivity are key to creating a safe and dependable working environment.  Rebecca continues:

“You don’t need to have the answers but simply listening to a person can be a powerful tool in helping them. Through having the confidence to speak out, get talking about our mental health and listening to others, we as people can do so much more to help so many.”

We recognise that our clients are doing amazing things.  Operating during a pandemic is no simple task.  And yet, KBB businesses are working hard to provide their products and services to the public, many of whom are confined to their homes.  As well as looking out for friends and family, please be kind to yourself through this difficult time.  Stay safe.

If you have been affected by issues concerning mental health don’t hesitate to seek help.  Organisations such as Mind and Samaritans have experts who can give you the opportunity to speak about how you’re feeling.
